Should we pray for enemies? Are we suppose to pray for our enemies? Are our enemies even worth our prayers? The answer is yes. Yes, we should pray for our enemies, just like the Bible says, even though it could be extremely difficult to pray for the ones we dislike, who may torment us, but Christ has said, "You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbour and hate your enemy.' But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you" (Matthew 5:43-44, NIV).
What if prayers are in opposition? what if two people are praying for something resulting in opposites? Does He just pick one that He feels like? No. God does not choose arbitrarily. He may decide not to answer either one or possibly He'll answer the prayer of one person, but not the other. But Why? This is a question without an answer. We never know why God chooses what He does for us but we just believe and trust in Him because we know he has a special plan for each of us, though we may not know yet what that plan is. Not knowing what it is may be frustrating but we just have to wait faithfully.
Does God hear everyone's prayer? Does God hear our prayers? Does he only hear the ones of faithfulness. Is he going to answer my prayer? Yes, God does hear everyone's prayer as he knows everything. if God were to answer the prayer of a person believing in a false religion, we can only assume He'll answer it if it'll lead him to the right religion, not closer to the false one.
If we can't change God's will, why bother praying? if we know God has a will for us or that we can't change it, why should we bother to pray? God has taught us to pray and wants us to talk to him. Also prayer can have a positive on the world and the people. While some things are predestined by God, some are not. The ones predestined by God, are the ones usually influenced by prayer. "Although prayer will not change those events that God predestined to be accomplished by his own power unconditionally, many aspects of our lives are not unconditionally determined … Although prayer that asks God to act contrary to His nature or unconditional purposes is of no avail, our petitions in other matters have great and eternal significance." - Gordon Lewis and Bruce Demares.
Not knowing how to pray or what to say A very common problem often associated with prayer is not knowing how to pray and'or what to say when you pray. If you do not know what to say, using 'ACTS' is a great way to help you and it is a short acronym which is easy to remember. ACTS: A - Adoration, praising God for who He is. C - Confession, confessing and telling Him your sins then ask for forgiveness. T - Thanksgiving, thanking Him for prayers answered, helping us in our daily lives and everything else. S - Supplication, tell Him your needs and needs of others.
